Preventing Plagiarism

The Academic Success Center invites you to join us for the second "Nourishment and Knowledge" workshop of the semester.
Preventing Plagiarism:
Proactive Steps to Keep Students Honest in Their Writing
Student Center Room 18
Monday, October 8, 200712:00-12:50 P.M.

We will discuss how technology makes it easier not only for students to plagiarize but also for instructors to detect plagiarism. We will also share sound teaching techniques that can thwart intentional plagiarism with assignments and instruction that are good for all students (not just those prone to academic dishonesty). We will invite you to share the ideas you have implemented in your teaching to prevent students from plagiarizing in their writing rather than having to react to it.

RSVP by Thursday, October 4 in order to reserve a meal at this workshop luncheon. You may respond to Sonja Steffen (ASC Administrative Secretary) by e-mail at Sonja.Steffen@dickinsonstate.edu or by telephone at 483-2999. We look forward to having you join us and our continuing conversation about when and how to use writing to teach and learn.
